

| Training for the Horse & Rider Classical Training is not just for dressage arena or those wishing to perform high school moves. Training at the stud is a holistic approach to horsemanship which includes loose work, work-in-hand, lunge work and ridden work. This is backed up with support from the Stud Physiotherapist. The aim is very simple - to develop a harmonious relationship with a horse who is supple, submissive and willing to work. This style of training holds no quick fixes, training is along traditional lines using only basic tack and equipment to develop correct muscle structure and movement. Ultimately the horse achieves balance and self carriage. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT for horse and rider Human Balance and Core Stability Course This is a ground based clinic - no horse required A study & practical day looking at Human and Equine movement, how the two interact and the influence a rider has on a horses movement. The aim is to create freedom in movement for the horse and awareness of balance for the rider. Also demonstrations of equine physio exercises with stud stallions. 'All riders should take this course before they ride a horse' J.W Cornwall Horse Physiotherapy Assessment & Treatment The horse is an athlete just like a human performing in sport. Use of physiotherapy improves the horses natural range of movement, corrects muscle imbalance and aids self carriage. The result - increased performance & improvement in your horses sense of well being. Horse Physiotherapy is available approximately every 3 months from Celia. Horse & Rider Physiotherapy Clinic This is a one to one clinic with horse & rider together (held at the stud) designed as a natural progress from the ground based Human Clinic & Horse Physio. It brings horse and rider together to look at specific problems for example stiffness on one rein, problems with transitions, poor strike off in canter, evasion or why doesn't my horse seem to understand what I am asking! TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT Spanish Horse Courses The course A residential course on all aspects of the Spanish horse. Courses can be from ½ day upwards. Objectives To develop the knowledge base of those thinking of buying a Spanish horse, or extend the knowledge of current owners To gain hands on experience in a variety of areas pertaining to ownership Content The course is designed specifically to cover areas of interest and a program is developed from the following topic base - The Spanish horse, conformation - Bloodlines - Temperament and movement - General management including 'should I buy a stallion' - The stud book system and paperwork - The buying process - Plaiting and trimming - Traditional tack and costume - Setting up a stud - Stallion handling and management - Covering and breeding - Branding - Foal management and handling - Classical dressage training - Ground work Each topic will be available as a short taster or a longer and more in depth look at the subject material. Courses can be developed over longer time frames and are designed to be hands on practical courses. A course book of notes will be included which will contain the topics covered in the course. Dates – by arrangement with the stud and can run either at the weekend or during the week. Prices According to the specific elements selected but start at around £100.
